Let’s salute the nation on Republic Day

On the 26th of January, 2024, Indian School Sohar jubilantly observed India’s 75th Republic Day, a day that signifies the adoption of the Indian Constitution and India’s transformation into a democratic republic. The school was festooned with tricolour decorations, mirroring the spirit of the occasion. Students, filled with pride, celebrated the spirit of unity.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Ajay Damani, the Treasurer of the School Managing Committee, along with other members of the School Managing Committee and guests, were warmly welcomed, and a ceremonial guard of honour was presented.

The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, delivered an impactful speech, complemented by a compelling video, highlighting the importance of the Constitution and its distinct features. She encouraged students to embrace the spirit of the Constitution and apply its principles in their everyday lives, serving as a potent reminder of the democratic values that steer our nation.

The cultural segment of the program began with a heartfelt rendition by the students of ‘Jaytu Janani’, a testament to our shared faith and unity. This was followed by a dance performance that beautifully illustrated India’s evolution through a mesmerizing medley, drawing inspiration from a poignant poem. This performance was not just a dance, but a visual narrative that brought to life the rich tapestry of India’s journey. The teachers also performed a patriotic medley, their dedication and passion resonating in every note.

Next, students performed a Tri-colour song, showcasing the nation’s unity in diversity. The Vande Matram dance, performed with fervour and patriotism, evoked deep emotions among the audience. Indeed, the event, brimming with excitement, received a thunderous applause, reflecting the audience’s appreciation and enjoyment.

The event was skilfully orchestrated by the Cultural Captains, Srishti Pandey and Parameswar Sajeesh, who managed to capture the spirit of Republic Day and instil a sense of nationalism among the attendees.

The program concluded with the resonating notes of the Indian National Anthem, leaving a palpable sense of contentment and pride on the faces of the audience as they departed from the school premises.
