"Safe Drive: Empowering Drivers with the Knowledge and Skills for Safe Transportation"
Indian School Sohar took the initiative to encourage safe driving practices for private bus drivers through driver orientation session. By promoting safe transportation practices, the school can help ensure the safety and well-being of students, faculty, and staff who rely on private buses for transportation.
A PowerPoint presentation was shown to the drivers in Arabic by Mr. Humaid Al Muqbali, school staff on 17.04.23. During their orientation, importance of safe driving practices were emphasised and drivers were encouraged to prioritize safety while on the road.
The session covered essential topics such as vehicle inspection, not to use mobile, adherence to traffic rules and regulations, not to use mobile phones, fatigue management, and emergency procedures. These sessions aimed to equip drivers with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate their vehicles safely and responsibly. All the rules and regulations stipulated by the Board of Directors were explained by the Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma.
Real-life examples of accidents and incidents were also included in the presentation to emphasize the importance of safety and responsibility while driving a private bus.
Through these efforts, the school hopes to encourage private bus companies to prioritize safe driving practices.
