Food donation and helping the needy are vital components of a compassionate society. A food donation drive is an effective way to make a positive impact on the community, and it brings together people from all walks of life to work towards a common goal.

To instill the virtue of altruism, the SAMARPAN CLUB of Indian School Sohar organized Joy of giving - food donation drive for the staff members and students of classes KG to XII in the auspicious month of Ramadan.

Joy of giving- food donation drive was inaugurated by the Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma. The Principal appreciated the team for organizing the drive, thereby instilling the value of charity amongst students.

The contribution drive had a tremendous response from students, parents and staff members, who generously donated to the cause. The drive aimed at collecting non-perishable food items.

Working hand in hand with students’ volunteers and club in-charge teachers, the food items brought by the students and staff members were collected, segregated and packed in separate bags.

To distribute the food products, the volunteer team traveled to various parts of the city with the Principal, Club Coordinator and the teacher in charges. The food distribution drive was successful in reaching out to the community's needy families. This drive stands at the heart of one of our strategic goals to serve the community.

The Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma appreciated the initiative taken up by the Samarpan Club and congratulated the team for its huge success. She said Joy of Giving drive served as a reminder of the importance of charity and giving back to the community.

The coordinator Ms. Indira Sukumaran expressed heartfelt thanks to the Principal, staff, students, parents and all the Samarpan club teachers in charge (Ms. Anam Shaikh, Ms. Shahnaz Khan, Ms. Deepa Riju, Ms. Selvi M, Ms. Infenta Christy, Ms. Anagha Panse, Ms. Infancy, Ms. Kavitha T, Ms. Renjini Mathew and Ms. Subhadra Sikha) who took part in the drive enthusiastically and worked tirelessly from collection to packing and then distributing the food items to the needy people in the Sohar Souq area and other nearby localities.
