On World Bicycle Day, the Physical Education Department of Indian School Sohar organized Safety and Awareness Programme for safe cycling.

World Bicycle Day is observed on 3rd June every year to promote the importance of cycling for transportation, health, and the environment. To support the awareness programme, placards are made by the students giving messages to promote cycling and state its advantages.

Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma delivered an awareness speech on Cycling. She said, “It is not just a mode of transportation; it is the initiative that connects us with nature, promotes a healthier lifestyle, and contributes to a cleaner and greener environment.” By choosing bicycles as the preferred means of getting around, we can make a significant impact on our lives and the communities we live in.

Mr. Humaid Khamis Al Maqbali shared some essential safety tips such as using helmets and reflective jackets that will help to have a safe and enjoyable cycling.

The aim of the programme was to educate the students about the benefits of cycling and the need to follow safety rules while riding a bicycle. Together, let us pedal towards a brighter, healthier and sustainable future.
