The Green Gyan Eco Club of Indian School Sohar celebrated Oman Environment Day on January 8, 2024, Monday, with various engaging initiatives aimed at fostering environmental consciousness among the students and the staff. This event showcased the commitment of the club in preserving the environment and its resources in the host nation.
The Eco Club organized presentations in all classes, using informative PowerPoint slides to convey the importance of sustainable practices creating awareness and instilling a sense of responsibility towards the environment. Additionally, dedicated volunteers from the Eco Club visited various classes armed with informative posters and speeches, spreading awareness about the significance of saving nature, water, electricity, and other vital resources. This grassroots approach ensured that the message of environmental conservation reached every corner of the school.
The school has also implemented the "BYOB-BRING YOUR OWN BOTTLE" AND "GOOS-GOOD ON ONE SIDE" campaigns to reduce the consumption of paper products and non-biodegradable trash glasses.
The Green Gyan Eco Club expressed gratitude to the Principal, the staff and the students, and all others for their wholehearted support in making this event a grand success.
Principal Sanchita Verma, Patron of the Green Gyan Eco Club, encouraged everyone to work towards protecting the environment of the host country. She highlighted the use of reusable bags to preserve the beauty of this magnificent country.
