08-01-2015

Sanjeevani, the Health & Wellness Club of Indian School Sohar, joined hands with SOHAR BATTERY COLLECTION in gathering the electronic wastes (batteries) and disposing it safely, thus keeping Oman clean and safe. Mrs. Rashmi Gopal from SOHAR BATTERY COLLECTION in coordination with Mr. Kamal Gurung, the coordinator of Sanjeevani, motivated the students in collecting used batteries. The Sanjeevani volunteers made a poster using collected cells which espoused the motto “KEEP OMAN CLEAN & SAFE”. Students of Std. III to X collected 210 Kg batteries. Std. IV F won the first position with a collection of 14.2 Kg cells and Std. VI B won the second position collecting 14Kgs. The winner and runner up classes were awarded with Fun City coupons.  Mrs. Rashmi Gopal addressed the students and made them aware of the harmful consequences of throwing batteries around. The enthusiasm and awareness shown by the students was praiseworthy. Principal, Sanchita Verma appreciated the efforts taken by the staff and students to make this campaign a huge success and for keeping the environment safe and clean.
