Celebrating India's Rich Heritage
On Tuesday, 23rd April 2024, Indian School Sohar witnessed a momentous occasion as His Excellency Shri Amit Narang, the Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, graced its premises. Accompanied by Shri Jayapal Dethe, Second Secretary (Political, Education), Shri Praveen Kumar, Head of Chancery & Second Secretary (E & C) from the Indian Embassy. Sheikh Anil Khimji, the patron of the school and Rajendra Ved graced the occasion. The school’s Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, and members of the School Managing Committee warmly received the distinguished guests.
The event unfolded with the Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, welcoming the esteemed guests. She presented a captivating presentation depicting the transformation of classrooms through innovative pedagogy using art integration and experiential learning. It highlighted the remarkable journey that Indian School Sohar had undergone, with the classrooms evolving into vibrant spaces for exploration and growth.
The cultural program by the students was a kaleidoscope of India’s diverse heritage. Under the theme “Journey Through Time,” the students collaborated to create a mesmerizing dance drama that spanned epochs, showcasing India’s rich culture and heritage. The various other programs also beautifully displayed the beauty and greatness of India.
His Excellency Shri Amit Narang, in his address, emphasized the holistic development of students. He encouraged them not only to excel academically but also to participate actively in co-curricular activities. He reiterated that education is the key to success and highlighted the role that India plays on the world platform.
Shri Abraham George, President of the School Managing Committee, reflected on the collaborative efforts that had elevated the school’s standards. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the school to His Excellency Shri Amit Narang, the Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, and other distinguished guests for gracing the occasion.
