REPORT ON SAI & TIMES OF OMAN ESSAY WRITING & POSTER MAKING COMPETITION-2015

The SAI & TIMES OF OMAN Essay Writing and Poster Making Competition-2015 was held on 18 April 2015 at Indian School Sohar.

Mr. Mohammed Bin Mubarak Al Saidi, Director of the Human Resources Department, Ministry of Education, Governorate of Al-Batinah North was the Chief Guest at Indian School Sohar & inaugurated the proceedings at 9:45 am. Mr. Manohar, Chairman SAI group was also present along with his team from Muscat. The Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma accorded warm welcome to the Chief Guest, other distinguished guests, Supervisors and representative teachers of various schools. There was an overwhelming response of students from Al- Batinah region in this wonderful event enhancing bond between people of India and Oman, stressing on inculcating values and virtues in children. Total No. of participants – all schools including Indian School, Omani, Pakistani, Bangladeshi were 1089.

The Essay writing was held from 10:00 am to 11:30 am and Poster making from 10:00 am to 12:00 am. There were 20 participants each for essay writing and poster making from every participating school. The topics were common for both Poster making and Essay writing :-

           GROUP A (Grades 1-3) - I love my Garden

           GROUP B (Grades 4-6) - A good book is a best friend

           GROUP C (Grades 7-9) - Serve the society with Modesty

           GROUP B (Grades 10-12) - Blessed Oman beautiful Oman

34  teachers of Indian School Sohar volunteered to be part of this noble programme. Apart from them many volunteers were there from SAI group to render help for the smooth conduct of the programme. Mr. Suresh , Chairman, SAI group, Sohar coordinated with the school for the finalization of the event.

The competition received all round appreciation. The Chief Guest and other delegates moved around the classes to appreciate the work done by the participants. The programme was well co-ordinated by Vice-Principal Dr. Vinukumar. Ms. Meenakshi Bhate and Ms. Sonal Ramaiya were the programme incharges from the school.
