The Science India Forum-Oman (SIF-Oman) proudly hosted the Annual Science Gala, celebrating the achievements of the winners of the Shastra Pratibha Contest 2025. This prestigious award ceremony took place on 25th April 2025 at the College of Banking and Financial Studies in Bousher, Muscat, with a vibrant audience comprising students, educators, and distinguished guests.
Each year, Indian schools across Oman participate in a series of competitions organized by SIF-Oman, which include the Shastra Pratibha Contest, Igniter Quiz, and Science Fiesta. This year the contest was coordinated in the school by Ms. Deepti Sahani.
Among the highlights of the evening was the recognition of Samannya Kola, a talented Grade 10 student from Indian School Sohar, who emerged as ‘Shastra Pratibha Title Winner for 2024-25’. He was one among the sixteen students who were given this title and were felicitated with a memento, certificate and a medal in an inspiring ceremony by the Ambassador of India to Oman, His Excellency Shri G.V. Shrinivas. He was accompanied on stage by notable dignitaries including Dr. Sudhir Mishra, Director General of DRDO; Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma, President of Vigyan Bharti (VIBHA); Dr. Khalifa Al-Jabri, Professor at Sultan Qaboos University; and Mr. Panindernath Gupta Bachu, President of SIF-Oman, and other esteemed personalities.
In addition to Samannya, Siddharth Sinhababu, a Grade 6 student from Indian School Sohar, received a Certificate of A+ Merit for his exceptional performance, successfully reaching the final level of the Shastra Pratibha Contest.
The achievements of these outstanding students were further acknowledged during the school assembly on 29th April 2025, where Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma praised their hard work and commitment to excellence in Science. She expressed her pride in their accomplishments and encouraged them to continue pursuing their passion in Science.
In conclusion, the Annual Science Gala not only celebrated the remarkable talents of young scientists but also highlighted the commitment of SIF-Oman to foster scientific inquiry and innovation among students.
