Two young cricketers, Blessy Vinod Jeeba and Yashaswini Jain from Indian School Sohar, participated in the CBSE National Girls’ Cricket Tournament 2025 held from 26th October to 2nd November 2025 at People’s Public School, Bhopal, India, and brought laurels to the school and Oman by winning the Bronze Medal.
It was a wonderful experience for the young cricketers to play at the national level and showcase their talents, which greatly boosted their confidence. Both players impressed everyone with their all-round performances throughout the tournament.
In the very first match, Blessy played a crucial knock, leading her team to victory against the West Zone Dominators. She also impressed with her bowling by taking important wickets at crucial moments of the matches, while Yashaswini displayed her strong batting skills, playing some remarkable knocks that contributed to the team’s success.
The Principal, Sanchita Verma congratulated both the players and their coach, expressing that this national-level success will inspire more girls to take up cricket and bring further glory to the school.
Both the girls were coached by Mr. Kamal Gurung, HOD Physical Education Department. Through this national-level participation, the players gained valuable experience in teamwork, discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship, and learned the importance of strategic thinking, physical fitness, and mental resilience, which will help them grow as confident and responsible athletes in the future.
The President, members of the SMC, Principal, staff, and students congratulated the girls on their remarkable achievement.
