A training program to enhance student engagement in music was organised by the Ministry of Education under the leadership and guidance of Supervisor Ms. Amani Al Rafaei on 9th December at Al-Tayyibat Hall, Training Centre, General Directorate of Education, North Al Batinah (Sohar).
The objective of the training was to strengthen the professional skills of music teachers and enhance student engagement in musical arts. The session was attended by music teachers from various schools across Oman. From Indian School Sohar, Ms. Maitrayi Mamtaj Chowdhury, Mr. Pritam Sarkar, and Ms. Antaripa Sarma participated in the workshop.
The training focused on effective and interactive techniques such as vocal warm-ups, music fundamentals, solfege singing, humming, legato and staccato practice, rhythmic exercises, group music activities, and the use of instruments in classrooms. Teachers were also briefed on vocal health and safe voice practices.
