The Class XII Science students of Indian School Sohar and four faculty members had an enriching experience during an educational visit to the International Maritime College Oman (IMCO) on 2nd June 2025. The purpose of the visit was to help students explore potential maritime and related career paths and familiarize them with the academic programmes and professional training facilities offered by IMCO.
During the visit, students received a warm welcome from the IMCO faculty and were given an overview of the college's mission and academic offerings. They were introduced to the Diploma and Bachelor programmes in Nautical Studies, Marine Engineering, Logistics and Transport Management, and Process Engineering.
The students participated in a guided campus tour, which included visits to the academic departments, well-equipped laboratories, engineering workshops, and simulation rooms. The bridge and engine room simulation labs were particularly interesting, which gave students a hands-on glimpse into real-world maritime operations.
In conclusion, the visit to IMCO proved to be an enriching and motivating experience for the students of Indian School Sohar. The school extends sincere thanks to the administration, faculty, and staff of IMCO for the warm hospitality, guidance, and effort in making the visit truly meaningful. The school looks forward to continued collaboration with IMCO to provide more such learning opportunities for the students.
