BAGLESS FUN DAY – A DAY FULL OF JOY AND LEARNING!

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommends incorporating “bagless days” into the curriculum as part of a broader effort to move beyond rote learning and promote holistic, experience-based education.

In line with this vision, Indian School Sohar organized a Bagless Fun Day for students of Nursery to Class II on June 1st, 2025.

Our young learners had a delightful time celebrating this special occasion—leaving their school bags behind and embracing a day full of play, creativity, and hands-on experiences. With classrooms transformed into spaces of discovery and joy, the event nurtured imagination, curiosity, and a genuine love for learning. From the moment the children walked in with bright smiles, the excitement in the air was contagious!

The day was filled with engaging activities such as games, storytelling, music, dance, art and craft, and other interactive sessions.

  • Nursery to UKG: Students celebrated Yellow Colour Day highlighting the vibrant colour yellow. They participated in a variety of activities like paper crumbling, rolling, cutting, gluing, etc. The children, while engaged in these activities learned how colours can influence mood and learning.
  • Class I: Children enjoyed a clay modelling activity where they moulded clay into shapes of fruits. This not only introduced them to healthy eating habits but also enhanced their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity and concentration while providing a joyful medium for self-expression and experiential learning.
  • Class II: Students learned about table manners and dining etiquettes through fun and practical activities that made learning both meaningful and enjoyable. It helped to foster their social skills, self-discipline and respect for others.

Bagless Fun Day was truly a memorable experience for our little ones, reminding us that education goes far beyond textbooks. We look forward to many more days of joy, creativity, and holistic learning!
