As per CBSE Circular No. 16/2026 dated 01 April 2026, the Central Board of Secondary Education introduced the revised curriculum for Class IX for the academic session 2026–27. In order to facilitate its effective implementation, CBSE, in collaboration with NCERT, conducted a series of online subject-specific orientation webinars for teachers.
Further, as notified in the above circular, these webinars were scheduled from 6 April 2026 to 1 May 2026, along with an introductory session held on 2 April 2026 to provide an overview of the revised curriculum.
Teachers of Indian School Sohar, handling classes VIII, IX, and X and teaching English, Hindi, Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Arts Education, Skill Education (Kaushal Vikas), and Physical Education & Well-being, actively participated in these online professional development programmes. They attended the sessions collaboratively as a team along with their respective Heads of Department.
In addition, CBSE organized online orientation sessions on Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence (CTAI) for Computer teachers teaching Classes III–VIII, as well as for Social Science, Mathematics, and Science teachers teaching Classes III–V. These sessions aimed to equip teachers with foundational knowledge and effective pedagogical approaches for integrating computational thinking and AI concepts across subjects at the primary level.
These webinars focused on key aspects such as competency-based learning, experiential pedagogy, interdisciplinary approaches, and revised assessment practices in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The participation of teachers in these sessions has significantly enhanced their understanding of the revised curriculum and strengthened their classroom practices. It has enabled them to effectively implement innovative teaching strategies, thereby improving student engagement and learning outcomes.
