ENGLISH PARAGRAPH WRITING COMPETITION 2026 NURTURING YOUNG WRITERS

The English Paragraph Writing Competition for Classes VI to VIII, held at Indian School Sohar on 30th April 2026, provided students with an excellent platform to showcase their creativity, language skills, and clarity of expression. The event reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing confident and articulate young writers.

The competition was organized under the guidance of the Head of the Department of English, Mrs. Divya Johari, and efficiently coordinated by the in charges Ms. Zainab Sidddiqui, Ms. Heena Ahmed, and Ms. Sanjukta Chowdhury.

Students were provided with thought-provoking and age-appropriate topics that inspired them to think creatively and express their ideas effectively. Class VI students reflected on themes such as Respecting Elders and Hard Work Always Pays, while Class VII explored topics like Success through Teamwork and The Value of Time. Class VIII participants shared their perspectives on Good Manners in Daily Life and Social Media: Advantages and Disadvantages. Prior practice sessions had been conducted to familiarize students with paragraph structure, organization of ideas, and effective expression.

The participants demonstrated their writing skills by presenting well-organized paragraphs with suitable title, showcasing their command over grammar, vocabulary, coherence, and creativity.

The Principal, Vice-Principal, Assistant Vice-Principal, and the Head of the English Department appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and congratulated them on their commendable performance. They lauded the efforts of both the participants and teachers for making the event a grand success and encouraged students to continue developing their writing skills through regular reading, practice, and creative expression.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students displaying impressive imagination, coherence, and linguistic competence. Overall, the event proved to be both enriching and inspiring, strengthening students’ writing skills and promoting creative expression.
