Indian School Sohar conducted the Final Round of the Inter-House FUN-O-MATH, 2026–27 for Class VII in the Recreation Hall on 11th May, 2026. This event marked the first-ever Inter-House Mathematics FUN-O-MATH for the middle school segment, featuring an innovative combination of online and activity rounds.
The event began with a warm welcome address by Ms. Indira Sukumaran, Assistant Vice-Principal and Head of the Mathematics Department. The event was organised by the Teachers-In-Charge, Ms. Subhadra Sikha and Ms. Thasni Thajudeen, who took on the role of Quiz Masters for the event. Mr. Maijo Varghese acted as the Moderator, Ms. Shalini Nair and Ms. Remya K. Mani served as the Scorers, and Ms. Infancy Jermila Rani and Ms. Radhikha were the Event Evaluators.
A total of 121 students participated in the preliminary round, from which 12 top scorers qualified for the grand finale. The competition featured four teams Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow Houses representing with three members each.
The event consisted of four exciting rounds: Quiz Blast, Memory Magic, Number Hunt, and Fun Finale.
The first round, Quiz Blast, was an online quiz conducted through Wayground. The participants answered a variety of mathematical and logical reasoning questions within the given time. The second round, Memory Magic, challenged the observation and memory skills of the participants. A grid of pictures were displayed for a limited time, after which teams answered questions based on what they had observed. The third round, Number Hunt, was the most energetic round of the competition. Number cards were displayed briefly on the screen, and teams had to remember the digits, solve the given questions, and run to the board to display their answers using magnetic number cards and whiteboard writing. The fourth round, Fun Finale was the most exciting and action-packed round of the competition. The round included activities such as Tangram Challenge and Triangular Pyramid using Paper Cups of numbers.
These rounds tested the speed, accuracy, and conceptual understanding, decision-making under pressure, teamwork, observation, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, created excitement and encouraged concentration and quick recall among the students.
Audience interaction rounds were conducted between the main rounds, ensuring lively participation and enthusiasm throughout the event. The finalists were commended for their teamwork, time management, and mathematical proficiency. The programme was anchored by student volunteers and coordinated under the supervision of the Mathematics Department. The Quiz Masters, Scorers, Time Moderator, and Activity Judges ensured a seamless execution of the competition.
A special address by the Principal, Sanchita Verma, was one of the highlights of the event. She appreciated the sincere efforts and enthusiastic participation of both students and teachers and also encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence in academics as well as co-curricular activities.
The event concluded with the Result Declaration and Prize Distribution Ceremony. Blue House emerged as the Champions with 110 points, Yellow House secured the position of First Runner-Up with 90 points, Red House and Green House, scoring 50 points each, jointly secured the third position.
