The Girls' Handball teams of Indian School Sohar put up a spirited performance at the prestigious CBSE Oman Cluster Handball Tournament 2026 organized by Indian School Al Seeb on 11th May 2026.
The U-17 Girls' category saw fierce competition among 10 participating teams. Indian School Sohar started their campaign with absolute dominance and maintained their composure throughout the tournament to secure a well-deserved Bronze Medal overall. In their opening match, Indian School Sohar faced Indian School Salalah a commanding 4-1 victory. Carrying the momentum forward, the team faced a tough challenge against Indian School Muscat. In a nail-biting encounter that tested their defensive resilience, IS Sohar edged past their opponents with a 2-1 win, securing a spot in the semi-finals.
In the semi-final clash, the girls fought valiantly but ultimately lost to a strong side from Indian School Wadi Kabir. Despite the heartbreak, their overall stellar performance throughout the tournament rightfully earned them the Third Position.
The U-14 category featured 9 competing teams. In a high-stakes knockout match against Indian School Darsait, the young eves narrowly lost the match after giving a phenomenal, neck-and-neck fight.
The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma commended the players for their commitment to learning and continuous improvement. She also extended her heartfelt congratulations to Coach Mr. Sachin Ali for his unwavering dedication to training the team.
