The Junior Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2026 – 2027 was solemnly conducted at Indian School Sohar on 24th May 2026 with great enthusiasm, dignity, and pride. The occasion celebrated the emergence of young leaders who pledged to uphold the values of discipline, responsibility, and service. Reflecting the timeless belief that leadership is not merely about holding positions but about inspiring and empowering others, the ceremony marked the beginning of a new journey for the elected student council members.
The programme was honoured by the gracious presence of the Chief Guest, Hessa bint Idris Al-Awadhi, Principal of Al-Hikma Basic Education School, North Al Batinah Governorate, Sohar, Ministry of Education.
The ceremony commenced with the serene prayer song “Count Your Blessing,” creating an atmosphere of reverence and positivity. Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma warmly welcomed the gathering and addressed the audience with an inspiring message on the significance of honesty, commitment, and leadership. Her motivational words encouraged the students to become responsible role models and compassionate individuals. Adding vibrancy to the occasion, the choir presented the uplifting song “It’s a Beautiful Day,” filling the auditorium with joy and optimism.
The event also highlighted the dedicated efforts of the organising and election committee. Dr. Sheenam Samuel (Headmistress Primary Section) and Mr. Kamal P. Gurung (Head of the Physical Department) served as the overall coordinators of the council elections, with valuable support from Ms. Michelle Lee and Ms. Santy Manesh. The selection committee, comprising Dr. Sheenam Samuel, Ms. Swati Khatav, Ms. Michelle Lee, Ms. Tushith Naveen, and Mr. Nikhil More, carefully guided the process of identifying capable and promising student leaders.
One of the most memorable moments of the ceremony was the formal investiture of the newly elected council members. Dressed smartly and wearing badges and sashes symbolising duty and honour, the young leaders proudly received their insignia from the Principal and the Chief Guest. The oath-taking ceremony followed, during which the council members solemnly promised to fulfil their responsibilities with sincerity, dedication, and integrity, while striving to uphold the school's values and reputation.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by the Junior School Captains, Alia Maryam and Anubhav Singh, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, management, staff, students, and everyone who contributed to the event's success.
The ceremony was efficiently compered by Ms. Santy Manesh and Ms. Ruchika Verma, whose poised and confident anchoring ensured the seamless progression of the programme. The Junior Investiture Ceremony 2026 – 2027 stood as a proud and memorable occasion for the entire school community, inspiring the young leaders to shoulder their responsibilities with confidence, commitment, and a spirit of service.
