Indian School Sohar radiated the ambience of excitement and pride as the Senior Investiture Ceremony took place on 8th June, 2026. The event marked a significant moment in the school calendar, celebrating the transition of leadership within the Student Council, honouring and inducting the new Student Council, and empowering them with responsibilities and authority. The Chief Guest, Mr. Ibrahim Bin Ali Al Raisi, Member of the Municipal Council, Wilayat Sohar, North Al Batinah Governorate was ceremoniously escorted onto the stage lending significance to the occasion.
The hosts Aswath Raghavan and Amrutha Varshini, the ex-school Captains, set the tone for the event emphasizing the essence of service in leadership. The ceremony began with a prayer song that called for blessings, followed by a captivating performance blending the traditional dance forms of Kathak and Bharatanatyam. The dancers mesmerized the audience with their grace, illustrating the harmony between movement and music.
The Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma, delivered an inspiring welcome address, focusing on the importance of leadership and the responsibilities it brings. She commended the Selection Panel for their efforts. Her words resonated with the students, highlighting that true leadership involves responsibility and sincerity. While welcoming the Chief Guest, who was being appreciated for being a polyglot, she cited the helps rendered by the municipality in the smooth working of the school. The Chief Guest extended congratulations to the Council and spoke about his passion for learning Hindi, which is gradually gaining world acclaim.
The Selection Panel was introduced and applauded for the effort in selecting the Council with careful judgment, dedication, and fairness. The highlight of the ceremony was the official Investiture, during which the outgoing School Captains reflected on their rewarding journey. They expressed gratitude to their peers for their collaboration and support, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in achieving success.
With anticipation building among students, the moment arrived for the announcement of the new Student Council members followed by the traditional presentation of badges by the Chief Guest and the Principal, signifying their new responsibilities and the official status as leaders within the student body. The Houses-in-Charge for the session - Mr. Bijo Joseph & Mrs. Sabira Seni (Blue House), Mr. Santhosh Kumar and Mrs. Zeema Viswanathan (Green House), Mr. Sudarshan Gupta & Mrs. Prajitha Sunil (Red House), Mr. Mohammed Ilyas & Mrs. Sophia Kishore (Yellow House) - were introduced. The Principal administered the oath thereafter. Through this oath-taking ceremony, the Council members pledged to uphold the values and integrity of the school, affirming their commitment to fulfilling their duties conscientiously and ethically taking the school to newer heights and resplendence.
The newly elected School Captains, Rojus Paul and Aysha Hanan, proposed the vote of thanks and reinforced their commitment to leading the student community with sincerity and purpose. The event concluded with a reminder from the hosts that every responsibility entrusted to students is an opportunity to grow and inspire others.
