Indian School Sohar celebrated a vibrant and enriching Bagless Day for the students of Classes I and II on 11th June 2026. The event gave students an opportunity to learn beyond textbooks through hands-on activities, creativity, communication, and cultural exploration.
The students of Class I enthusiastically participated in Healthy Bites Day, bringing a variety of homemade salads and nutritious snacks prepared with care. The young learners confidently presented their dishes, explaining the ingredients used and highlighting their health benefits. This activity promoted healthy eating habits, nutritional awareness, and public speaking skills among the students.
Adding to the excitement, the students also took part in an Origami House Activity, where they transformed colourful sheets of paper into beautiful origami houses. The activity encouraged creativity, concentration, fine motor skills, and imagination, making learning both enjoyable and interactive.
Class II students showcased India's rich cultural heritage through a colourful Costume Parade. Dressed in the traditional attire of various Indian states, the students confidently spoke about the culture, traditions, customs, and heritage of the regions they represented. Their presentations reflected the spirit of unity in diversity and fostered respect and appreciation for India's multicultural identity.
The event was graced by the Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma and Supervisor, Ms. Chitra, who interacted warmly with the students and appreciated their enthusiasm, confidence, and creativity. Their encouraging presence added great value to the celebration and motivated the young learners to participate wholeheartedly.
The Bagless Day celebration successfully blended learning with fun, allowing students to explore new ideas, express themselves confidently, and develop essential life skills. The day was filled with excitement, creativity, and meaningful experiences, leaving students with cherished memories and valuable lessons that extended beyond the classroom.
