Indian School Sohar celebrated the 69th Independence Day with deeply felt patriotic spirit and fervor. The whole campus decorated with tricolour instilled patriotism in everyone. The chief Guest Mr. Dilip Asher, the Convener of School Managing committee, accompanied by other SMC members, unfurled the National Flag.
The patriotic song presented by the school choir saluting Bharat Mata heightened the brimming enthusiasm of one and all. Shruti Rajesh, the Cultural Captain, through her speech inspired everyone to adhere to the love and pride of those warriors who sacrificed their life for the freedom of Mother India and to become responsible citizens rendering honest service towards its prosperity. The dance put up by students of Std. V on the beats of Vande Mataram took everyone to the zenith of patriotism. The compeering of Asna John, the Cultural Captain, who quoted the famous words of Einstein: “If there is one place on the face of earth where all dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when men began the dream of existence, it is INDIA”, left the whole crowd full of pride for their mother land. On this auspicious occasion a face book page was launched for ISS.
The function ended with the National Anthem and the echoing slogan, “Jai Hind”.
