“Each tree counts—plant it, nurture it, protect it!”
Oman Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Indian School Sohar on 8th January 2026, creating environmental awareness among students. The programme was organised by Green Gyan Eco Club of the school to promote environmental responsibility and encourage students to protect nature.
The celebration began with an appealing and meaningful dance performance. Through graceful movements, expressive gestures, and creative formations, the students effectively highlighted the importance of trees in sustaining life on earth. The performance conveyed a powerful message about environmental conservation and left a lasting impression on the audience.
This was followed by an inspiring speech by Ms. Sanchita Verma, the Principal and Patron, who acknowledged the commendable efforts of Green Gyan Eco Club and emphasised the need to protect the environment, conserve natural resources, and adopt eco-friendly practices in daily life. She strongly encouraged students to plant trees and actively participate in the noble initiative “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” highlighting tree plantation as a meaningful way to express gratitude towards nature and motherhood. Her address motivated students to become responsible citizens and contribute positively towards a greener and healthier future.
Mr. Kamal Gurung, Overall Coordinator, Ms. Saima Ahmad, Club Coordinator, and all Eco Club members expressed gratitude to the students for their significant participation and encouraged them to keep the host country neat and clean. The programme concluded on an inspiring note, making the celebration of Oman Environment Day a meaningful and memorable event for all present.
