A Professional Development Programme for the teaching staff was conducted at Indian School Sohar on 11 March 2026. The session was led by the esteemed resource person, Dr. Gokuladas, COO – Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman. The programme began with a brief introduction highlighting the importance of continuous professional development for educators in today’s dynamic educational environment.
Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, in her welcome address, introduced the esteemed resource person and emphasized the importance of regular training programmes in enhancing teachers’ professional competencies and ensuring quality education.
Dr. Gokuladas conducted two engaging sessions on “Professional Development – A Lifelong Learning Process” and “The Importance of Soft Skills for Professionals in an Educational Institution.” Through well-structured PowerPoint presentations and real-life examples, he highlighted the need for continuous learning, effective communication, and interpersonal skills for educators. Teachers actively participated in the interactive activities and discussions, making the sessions highly engaging and insightful.
The workshop concluded with the Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, presenting a memento to Dr. Gokuladas as a token of appreciation for his valuable contribution. The Assistant Vice Principal, Ms. Indira Sukumaran, expressed sincere gratitude to the Resource Person, the Members of the School Managing Committee, the organizing team, and all the teachers for their enthusiastic participation in making the programme a success.
