Indian School Sohar organised a special programme on 7 October 2026 to commemorate Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s completion of 25 years in public governance. Combining music, dance, drama and student reflections, the celebration highlighted his leadership journey, the strengthening of India–Oman friendship and the school’s contribution to his vision through education and community engagement.

The programme commenced with a rendition of India’s National Song, “Vande Mataram,” expressing reverence for the motherland. This was followed by “Hum Bharat Ke Hain,” a musical presentation reflecting the sentiments of Indians living in Oman.

A highlight of the programme was “Bridges of Friendship,” a presentation by Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma. She traced the strengthening of India–Oman relations through Prime Minister Modi’s two visits to Oman and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s visit to India, explaining how these exchanges deepened mutual trust, cooperation, and friendship between the two nations.

She showcased how Indian School Sohar translates this spirit of friendship into meaningful action. Environmental initiatives, cleanliness drives, educational exchanges, sporting interactions and community service illustrated the school’s efforts to promote responsible citizenship and strengthen ties with the local Omani community. Her presentation emphasised how students living beyond India’s borders can contribute to the Prime Minister’s vision while respecting and serving their host country.

Adding a personal touch, student Amruta Varshini narrated her experience of travelling to Muscat to attend Prime Minister Modi’s address at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre during his December 2025 visit. Her recollections captured the pride and excitement of seeing and listening to the Indian Prime Minister on foreign soil—a memorable opportunity for the participating students to feel connected to their homeland.

An expressive dance drama portrayed significant stages of Shri Narendra Modi’s life and leadership journey. Through storytelling, music and movement, students presented themes of public service, good governance and progress across different fields, highlighting India’s continuing journey towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.

The presentation “Words That Inspire” brought to life messages associated with the Prime Minister’s initiatives, including Swachh Bharat and Viksit Bharat. Students also highlighted his addition of “Jai Anusandhan” to the existing call of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan,” underlining the importance of research and innovation. Through their presentation, they explained how these messages inspire everyday actions—from maintaining clean surroundings to developing scientific curiosity and contributing to society.

The programme was well attended by members of the Indian community, parents, invited guests, staff and students, who expressed their love for their motherland and conveyed heartfelt wishes for India’s continued peace, progress, and prosperity.
