Ministry of Education organized a unique interactive program on 8th October, 2015 where in 20 students & 5 lab technicians from esteemed Omani government schools visited Indian School Sohar.

A brainchild of Ms. Maryam Said Al-Qasimi, Supervisor, General Directorate of Education, North Al-Batinah Governate region, the visit was intended to understand the ecological initiatives taken by the Indian School Sohar to improve the eco system of their host country.

The guests were warmly welcomed in traditional Indian style. The school choir began the function with a scintillating Arabic song eulogizing His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, followed by a spirited Indian patriotic song.

The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma took the guests on a pictorial journey through the various achievements (scholastic & co-scholastic), events, activities, competitions & trips of the school which left them spellbound.

Ms. Asha Mohan & Mr. Kamal Gurung, Green Gyan Eco club teacher co-coordinators of Indian School Sohar along with their energetic volunteers presented skits , songs , showcasing the effects of global warming, virtues of saving water & electricity as well as recycling plastic.

The Omani students were curious to have an in-depth knowledge of the eco activities of Indian School Sohar which was fulfilled through a power point presentation by Ms. Asha Mohan.

The guests also visited the school's Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Computer labs, the library and the recycle station & appreciated the zest & efforts of the staff & students of Indian School Sohar.

It is noteworthy that language was never a barrier throughout the program. It was an ideal bilingual, cultural, eco exchange program which Ms. Maryam felt should be conducted frequently to educate the students about their environment & its preservation.
