“Protect the Ozone Layer, Protect our Future!”
Indian School Sohar observed International Ozone Day 2026 with various awareness activities to sensitise students about the importance of protecting the ozone layer and the environment.
As part of the observance, an informative awareness video was shown to students of Classes III to XII on 15th September 2026. The video highlighted the vital role of the ozone layer in protecting life on Earth from harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation and encouraged students to adopt sustainable practices.
On 16th September 2026, students of Classes I and II presented a special assembly featuring an informative speech and an engaging skit. The young students effectively conveyed messages on reducing pollution, planting trees, adopting eco-friendly practices, and protecting the ozone layer.
Addressing the students, Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma emphasised the importance of environmental awareness and encouraged them to become responsible citizens committed to a cleaner and greener planet. Dr. Sheenam Samuel, Headmistress (Nursery–V), and Ms. S. Chitra, Supervisor (Nursery–II), appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and meaningful presentation.
The observance successfully reinforced the importance of protecting the ozone layer and inspired students to take meaningful steps towards environmental conservation.
