Indian School Sohar joined the Republic Day celebrations of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The celebrations started when Mr. Haridas Jeevraj Java, the President of SMC unfurled the flag.
When the little ones sang 'Bharat humko jaan se pyara hai' with pride everyone was mentally transported to into 'Our Heaven of freedom', Mother India. The Cultural Captain Asna Merin John spoke about the great sacrifice of our predecessors and reminded us of our responsibility to keep the freedom and integrity intact. The patriotic song of the choir echoed the spirit of unity and the formation dance where the swaying movements of the students in dressed tricolour brought forth the mesmerizing sight of the fluttering Flag.
The Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma congratulated people of India and desired that the country go ahead in the path of peace and prosperity. She reminded us to be thankful for everything that the great nation and its visionary leaders have endowed us with. The celebration came to an end with the echoes of the National Anthem and Jai Gosh reverberating around instilling a feeling of patriotism and a sense of pride for the motherland.
