A special assembly was organized on 8th Sept 2016 to mark the World Literacy Day and also to honour the forthcoming festivals, Onam and Eid Al Adha. The prayer song was followed by a speech to highlight the importance of the written world. The students were then challenged with an interactive quiz on the themes of literacy and Onam.
The traditions and customs of Kerala were then described and the true meaning of sacrifice, inherent in the Eid celebrations, was explained in further speeches. A colourful and rhythmic dance performance from the God’s own country, Kerala was presented.
The Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma encouraged the students to take a step ahead and help the illiterate to advance and gain basic education. She shared her own satisfying experiences in this direction to motivate the students and the assembly concluded with an awakening message about the need of literacy in the present times.
