A TRIBUTE TO THE TEACHERS OF ISS

07-09-2016

Enthusiasm and festivity marked the Teachers’ Day celebrations at Indian School Sohar on 5th Sept. 2016. The Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma paid floral tributes to the great visionary Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer in education, a well-known diplomat, scholar, the President of India and above all, a teacher. The students put their best foot forward with dance sequences, songs and skits to make the day special for the teachers and their efforts were received with loud applause and appreciation.

The occasion was made more special by the book release of one of the students, Ms. Aburva Govindarajan of Class IX C . The book titled “Footprints Of A Young Dancer” is based on her experiences while learning the traditional Indian dance form Bharatnatyam. The multi-talented girl was honoured in the school assembly and wished luck for her future endeavours.

The School Management Committee also organized a family get together for the entire staff of the school at Crowne Plaza, Sohar where the versatile teachers put up a grand cultural programme. The staff members were honoured for their round-the-year contributions by the SMC. Fun games were also conducted to the delight of all, especially children.
