The International Day For The Preservation Of Ozone Layer, celebrated by the United Nations on 16th Sept. every year, was observed at ISS when the school reopened after Eid and Onam holidays. An exhibition was arranged to showcase various charts describing the Ozone layer, causes for its depletion and ways to ensure its restoration.
Students of all classes were educated and made aware about how they could contribute towards this global issue. The science teachers accompanied the students to explain the content. A presentation was also shown to the students in their respective class rooms to throw light on the topic.
It was a laudable effort put up by the Science Department and Green Gyan Eco Club, as it will go a long way in educating the next generation about the relevance of this day.
