ISS CELEBRATES HINDI WEEK

28-09-2016

ISS celebrated ‘Hindi Week’ from 18th Sept. 2016 to 22nd Sept. 2016, to honour the national language. It marked the Hindi Diwas, which is celebrated across the country on 14th of September every year to commemorate the historic occasion when ‘Hindi’, written in Devnagari script, was approved as the official language by the Constituent Assembly on 14th of September in the year 1949.

A week full of learning-with-fun moments was planned, wherein linguistic skills and polishing sessions with fun-filled activities were organized in Hindi. The Hindi week started with a PowerPoint presentation for senior students containing Hindi songs, photos and documentary on the importance of Hindi, featuring an introduction to the poetry book “Abhinav Surbhit Kaliyan” written by Mr. Yashvir Singh, the HOD of Hindi Department at ISS.

The students of classes III-V celebrated Hindi week by presenting activities in their classes and in the library, highlighting the relevance of Hindi language in the modern era and about how this language is the soul of our rich Indian culture. They conducted story reading, Reader’s Theatre and project on Hindi book reading. Efforts to give the national language its due respect and to keep it from fading into the oblivion marked the celebrations.
