Mental Maths Competition was conducted in Indian School Sohar for Class III to IV on 29th Aug 2017. It was conducted with an intention to enhance the interest, Strategic competence and computational fluency in Mathematics in children. The competition was conducted in three rounds. The preliminary round sorted the best out of the participants who then appeared for the activity round which was conducted on 27th Aug. Here the participants were tested for their problem solving skill through a puzzle which they had to solve in the limited time duration.
In Rapid fire round, each participant was asked a series of question with a time frame of three minutes. The rapid fire round tried the competence of the participants in several mathematical calculations and logical reasoning. The competition was watched by the students of class III-V who found it encouraging and interesting.
