Indian School Sohar hosted the CBSE Oman Basket Ball Tournament 2017 on 23rd and 24th October. Mrs. Sanchita Verma, Principal, Indian School Sohar declared the Tournament open, welcomed and inspired all the players for the team event.
Indian School Maabela, Indian School Al Ghubra, Indian School Al Seeb, Indian School Salalah, Indian School WadiKabir, Indian School Muscat, Indian School Darsait and Indian School Sohar actively participated in the tournament. The presence of the Mascot, Mickey Mouse, created ambience of mirth.
Indian School Al Ghubra emerged winners and Indian School Sohar was runner-up in the under 17 Boys’ category. In the under Girls’ category Wadi Kabir became winners and Indian School Sohar, the runner-up. Under 19 Boys’ category Indian School Muscat lifted the winners trophy and Indian School Sohar bagged runner’s up trophy. In the Girls’ category Indian School Muscat outfaced Indian School Al Ghubra to clinch the winners trophy. The students of Indian School Sohar cheered up the players to show their competency.
The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Farsi, Director of Department of Activities and Sports, Sohar Sports Stadium. Principal, Indian School Sohar, welcomed the Chief Guest and the gathering and congratulated the participants for upholding the true spirit of sportsmanship.
The Prizes and mementos were given away by the Chief Guest. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Vice-Principal, Dr. Vinu Kumar. The programme ended with ecstatic applause for the fantastic and well organized management of the show by Indian School Sohar.
