National Science Day is celebrated on 28th February, every year, to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’, which led Sir Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman win the Nobel Prize.
A special assembly was conducted to celebrate National Science Day in Indian School Sohar. The assembly started with the morning prayer followed by the thought, news headlines and quiz. The highlight of the assembly was the role play, the presence of our great scientists who were the young talents of our school in the guise of the former. Another attraction was the dance which presented the various steps of scientific methods. The Principal addressed the children and spoke about the importance of being thankful for the inventions of the great scientists who made our lives so comfortable and easy. She also gave away the prizes to the winners of Olympiad, Green Gyan, Favourite Story Book Character, Sports, G.K.Quiz competitions.
