SCOUTS AND GUIDES TRAINING FOR TEACHERS

Indian School Sohar organized its first Scouts and Guides training programme on 25th& 26th March 2018 in its own premises.  The in charge coordinators carried out the training programme smoothly and enthusiastically with other teachers’ assistance. ISS Staff along with 13 Buraimi teachers actively took part in the event.

On the first day Mrs. Felcy Fernandes, Secretary for Bharat Scouts and Guides, Indian Schools, Sultanate of Oman along with her assistants Mr. Vikram Singh Yadhuvanshi, Coordinator for RajyaPuraskar and Rastrapathi awards, Mrs.Bharathi  Benerjee, Guides Captain,  Ms. Laveena .P Lady Scouts master , Basic training  course   hoisted the flag and  started the training session.  She addressed the gathering and gave general information about the objectives and purpose of the course, stages of advancement of Scouts and Guides.  It was interesting and authorizing for all the participants.  She elaborated the policies of Scouts and Guides in India and abroad.  She refreshed the trainees by her experiences and made them to participate in different course activities.  It was enriching and everyone participated with fun and frolic.  Trainees were given some activities to do at home and were instructed to get ready for different petrol kit inspections.

Second day’s session started with all faith prayers and teachers come up with their gadgets to display, for which they were awarded prizes.  Many entertaining activities like building campfire and safety precautions and some practical work were shown.

Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma addressed the closing ceremony in which, she acknowledged the skills, talents and discipline of Scouts and Guides in various events.  Mr. Gagandeep Singh proposed the vote of thanks. 

The two days of training were lively and gave enriching experience for the Scouts and Guides teachers with valuable lessons, contributing discipline, confidence building and readiness to serve.
