INDIAN SCHOOL SOHAR STUDENT WINS NRI ACHIEVERS AWARD

Aburva Govindarajan, a student of Indian School Sohar, received the prestigious NRI Achievers award in a glittering ceremony held recently at Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel.

She received the multifaceted young achiever trophy in the category of Arts and Entertainment. She is the first recipient of this award from the sultanate.

This award aims to recognise the talents of Non Resident Indians (NRI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) for their triumphant status in their respective arena.

Apart from Oman, the other recipients were from many countries including Spain, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and the UAE.

Aburva is a class 10 student from Indian School Sohar. She has given a solo dance debut performance, written a book titled 'Footprints of a Young Dancer', won three awards as writer and dancer, represented Oman in international dance festival in Indian Classical Dance and also has been the coordinator of Universal Dance Record programme in Oman which is due for recognition by Guinness Book of World Records.
