PATRIOTIC FERVOUR AT INDIAN SCHOOL SOHAR

Indian School Sohar celebrated the 72nd Independence Day of India on 15th August 2018 with zeal and spirit befitting the occasion at the school premises. Mr. Abraham George, President, School Managing Committee graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Swara Ingle of class XI presented an emphatic speech in Hindi amplifying the patriotic spirit. In her speech, she highlighted the struggle and sacrifice made by our forefathers and great Indian leaders who laid down their lives for the cause of freedom.
 

The scintillating dance performances by the students enthralled the audience with a true spirit of patriotism.

The patriotic songs sung by the students threw light on the children’s love for their homeland and left the audience imbued with a sense of patriotism.

Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma, welcomed the gathering and extended her heartiest Independence Day greetings to members of the Indian community in Sohar and Oman. She said, "We should remember the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and national leaders. We owe a lot to the courage and dedicated works of our national leaders." She thanked His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for his kindness and benevolence and expressed her gratitude for the brotherly relationship between India and Oman that has been existing for centuries.

She reiterated the mission statement of the school, which emphasizes moulding students to become caring and responsible global citizens.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Abraham George, President, School Managing Committee said that along with celebrations, it is our responsibility to make democracy and global citizenship a reality and urged students to realize their potential and work towards the prosperity of India. He also informed that the school would be proudly inaugurating the new multi-purpose hall very soon.

The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, evoking the feeling of patriotism among all present.
