Indian School Sohar observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, also known as National Unity Day, on October 31st, 2018 to commemorate the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. A special assembly was organized by the students of Class IV.
The assembly started with a floral tribute to the great hero by the Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma and the Supervisor, Ms. Alka Singh. The assembly commenced with the prayer song, followed by the thought and news. The speech excited the audience as it explained the life, history and the role of Sardar Patel in the freedom struggle who led the task of creating a united India. The highlight of the day was the Quiz, which was based on his life history. An enchanting song on ‘Unity in Diversity’ and the astounding dance performance which included the stereotype of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel enlightened the students who rejoiced over his precious legacy. Ms. Sanchita Verma, the Principal, addressed the students and briefed them about the life history of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and invigorated them to follow his principles to preserve the unity, integrity and security in the spirit of unification of the country. Principal gave away the prizes to the winners of Quiz and Mental Maths Competitions. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
