TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATIONS - PRESENTED BY STUDENTS

Teachers’ day is celebrated every year throughout the country on 5th September to express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers by the students. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – second President of India, the great academic philosopher, one of the most well known diplomat, scholar and above all most respected and a revered teacher.

Indian School Sohar students showcased their talents to express their gratitude and respect towards their teachers. The Students Council under the leadership of School Captains Dimpi Yadav and Yaagnik Saravaiyya in coordination with the Cultural Club. The presentations were divided into three slots :-

  1. Primary Classes (4th & 5th)
  2. Middle Section (6th to 8th)
  3. Secondary and Senior Secondary Section (9th to 12th)

The programme in all sections started with a prayer as per the Indian tradition. This was followed by the floral tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by all the teachers of the section along with the Principal, Vice-Principal and Supervisor. The other programmes were :-

  • Speeches by Rupanjana, Yaagnik and Griffy in the section assigned.
  • Poem recitation by Saniya & Nuzha
  • Dance performances by Shriya and group, Reeza and group, Keshika and group & Liya and group.
  • Joshwa and team mesmerized the audience with soothing melodies and impressive presentation on the musical instruments.
  • The Students Council presented a special item depicting old hero- heroines of 80s along with their song and unique costumes.
  • The grand finale of the function in all sections was the exhibition of unidue talent by a student of class IX- Pranav Liju – a performer, magician, mentalist and a hypnotist. During his performance, he hypnotised the volunteers from teachers and removed their ability to read English in front of the audience. The students and teachers were spellbound and astounished by his performance. Our Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma also volunteered herself for one of the session.
  • Compering team – Anushka and Shreya (4th & 5th), Jeet Verma & Pranjal Gupta (6th to 8th) and Dimpi Yadav & Khushi Anwar (9th to 12th)
  • Vote of Thanks were delivered by Ms. Diya Mirchandani (4th & 5th), Mr. Brendon Lee (6th to 8th) and Deepa Chandran (9th to 12th).
  • The Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma addressed the students and teachers and showed videos highlighting the virtues of will power, determination, helping others, discipline and courage to rise against all odds in life.
