“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

                                                                                                                            - Mother Teresa

Indian School Sohar marked the 112th birth anniversary of Mother Teresa by conducting a special class assembly by the English Department on 25th August for the students of KG – XII.  To commemorate her character and good deeds, her birthday is celebrated every year on 26th August. Mother Teresa continues to spread the light of hope and peace in everyone’s heart.

The aim of the assembly was to inculcate humanitarian values in the young minds. The celebration began with a prayer song followed by a thought. The students costumed as Mother Teresa became cute replicas, instilling joy and happiness. A short video was presented to throw light on the life of Mother Teresa. This was followed by showcasing the creativity of our young artists of classes VI to VIII, whose artwork was presented along with a beautiful rendition of the song ‘Come by My Light’.

Finally, a quiz was conducted to inspire the students to know more about the life of this great beacon of love, hope and care. The special assembly concluded with the national anthem. The students expressed gratitude to the Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma, Vice-Principal Mr. Yashvir Singh, Head of English Department Mrs. Divya Johari for this great opportunity and guidance, the assembly-in-charges Ms. Vidhya Dhanil, Ms. Shyma Muralikrishnan, Mr. Brendon for their direction and other teachers of English Department and the student community for their support.

Thus, the assembly was a sincere tribute to this noble soul, who will forever continue to inspire the people all over the world to follow her example of untiring and humble services.
