The Rashtriya Ekta Divas (National Unity Day) is observed on 31st October every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The EVS department of Indian School Sohar organized a special assembly to mark the 147th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel under the able guidance of the Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma and the Section Supervisor, Ms. Alka Singh.
The assembly commenced with a prayer song followed by a PowerPoint presentation and a Quiz on the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge was administered to the students. Poster making activity was also conducted to promote the idea of national integrity and unity.
‘Unity Run’ was organized on the school ground under the guidance of the Vice Principal, Mr.Yashvir Singh to mark the occasion in a befitting manner. Students, teachers and the Head of the Social Science Department, Mr. Rajasekaran joined the Unity Run. The Supervisor, Ms. Alka Singh addressed the students and highlighted the role of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel in promoting national integration.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Smitha. PG, along with all the EVS teachers.
The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma appreciated the efforts of students and teachers. The event concluded with the students promising to work towards the unity of the country.
