Science is our perception of the world around us, and it includes our home and surroundings. To evoke the curiosity in the young minds about scientific facts of the natural world around them, the EVS Department of Indian School Sohar, organized a Show and Tell Competition for Classes III and IV on 15th November 2022 under the guidance of our Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, and Supervisor, Ms. Alka Singh.
The competition was an endeavor to ignite a competitive spirit among children and explore their potential to think scientifically. The preliminary round was conducted on 20th October 2022 by the respective EVS teachers.
The competition began with a prayer song. The Section Supervisor, Ms. Alka Singh elaborated on the importance of cultivating the habit of scientific thinking in children and extended a warm welcome to the judges and the audience. The young participants visibly demonstrated tremendous talent, confidence and enthusiasm which were highly appreciated by all. They explained the scientific relevance of the prop they chose from their surroundings.
Participants were judged on the basis of content, appropriate selection of props, presentation and confidence.
Judges for the competition were Ms. Greta D'Souza, Ms. Tanjua Santosh Kadam, and Ms. Karuna Mehta.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Ruchika Verma along with all EVS teachers.
The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, Vice Principal, Mr. Yashvir Singh and the Section Supervisor, Ms. Alka Singh congratulated the winners and appreciated them for their excellent performances. Organizers of competition were also appreciated for organizing the competition in a flawless manner. The competition was an effort to break the traditional classroom learning and instill critical thinking in the minds of young learners.

Class IV
First position - Sahitya Shanbhag - IV B
Second position - Samanvi Sathyajith - IV C
Third position - Sreebhadra Sreejith - IV H
